Carolina West Wireless Sponsor for National Signing Day at Appalachian State

Carolina West Wireless (CWW), a North Carolina wireless company, assisted Appalachian State University (ASU) in kicking off its 2010 football campaign as the sole sponsor for an invitation-only National Signing Day Event at the Broyhill Inn on the campus of ASU.
Live coverage of the event was provided by The Appalachian ISP Sports Network and aired on GoASU TV.
“We couldn’t have been more pleased to be a part of this,” said Casey Clement, Director of Sales for Carolina West Wireless. “The level of success that Appalachian State University’s football program has achieved is tremendous and is a credit to the administration, the ASU Athletic Department, to Coach Moore and his staff and of course all of the student athletes who’ve made this program what it is.”
The Mountaineers welcomed a total of 16 new players to their ranks including 12 high school seniors and four college transfers.
“This is an exceptional class of newcomers and we couldn’t be more pleased to have all 16 join our program,” head coach Jerry Moore said. “Perhaps the thing that excites me the most is the eagerness that this group has displayed to take ownership of their team as soon as possible. We’re looking forward to them doing so beginning this summer.”
Appalachian will add considerable depth to the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball with 8 of the 16 recruits playing on the offensive line and four on the defensive front.
Spring practice began the first week of March for ASU with the Mountaineer’s suiting up for full contact drills at the Sofield Family Indoor Practice Facility. It was the team’s first ‘live’ action since their national semi-final loss to Montana. The team will have a few days off for spring break and will resume practices on March 15.
